Children of God for Life Vaccine Information/Updates

Welcome to our new supporters! This e-newsletter is now published quarterly unless there is important breaking news. To be removed from future updates please reply to this email with the word Remove in the subject line.

* Federal complaint filed against Austin Diocese on denial of vaccine exemption
* Chickenpox vaccine causing shingles epidemic
* Appeal for Congressional intervention for FDA import of rubella
* New - Updated Vaccine list includes Canada
* FDA poised to approve tainted polio combination vaccine
* Gardasil
* FLICA legislation needs sponsors!
* Federal complaint filed against Austin Diocese on denial of vaccine exemption

In an unprecedented move, the USDA has opened a formal investigation into the Diocese of Austin for refusing a medical exemption to a Catholic student. The child, Garrett Bowen has a certified letter from his physician attesting he cannot be immunized due to a direct genetic predisposition to systemic rheumatoid arthritis. The Austin diocese is among 12 of the 15 dioceses in the State that do not allow religious or philosophical exemptions, in direct contradiction to Texas law – and Catholic teaching. In fact, less than 2 dozen dioceses nationwide deny religious or philosophical exemptions. But Austin in the only diocese in the country to deny a medical exemption! Read the Bowen's story at www.cogforlife.org/bowen.htm Or view the news video Video From KXAN.com For an in-depth look at the law and the religious right of moral conscience see www.cogforlife.org/religiousconscience.htm

* Chickenpox vaccine causing shingles epidemic
Sent to us by one of our supporters, an archive from the Journal of Toxicology revealed a study into the surge in shingles cases among Americans since the implementation of chickenpox vaccinations. See www.cogforlife.org/varivaxshingles.htm

* Appeal for Congressional intervention for FDA import of rubella
Several hundred families filed letters through Children of God for Life to the FDA in March of 2006 for personal import of the untainted Takahashi rubella vaccine from Japan. Despite a promise by the FDA to one member of Congress that a response was forthcoming, they have continued to ignore our request. We are asking all parents who registered and physicians who are slated to administer the vaccines to contact your Congressmen and Senators and demand action by the FDA. For further information go to www.cogforlife.org/rubellaadmin.htm

* FDA poised to approve tainted polio combination vaccine
While Canadians rejoice at the availability of Sanofi Pasteur’s untainted Pediacel vaccine earlier this year, Sanofi is seeking FDA approval of its tainted Pentacel version in the US. We have updated our vaccine list to include both the tainted and untainted versions. See www.cogforlife.org/fetalvaccines.htm

* New - Updated Vaccine list includes Canada
The latest version of our vaccine brochure includes Canadian vaccines using aborted fetal cell lines. However, the alternatives available in the US may or may not be available in Canada. Citizens should check with their doctors or Health Canada to see if the ethical versions may be imported from the US. Also new – a downloadable version of the list of vaccines is up on the website at: at www.cogforlife.org/fetalvaccines2.pdf Please NOTE: We are currently in the process of updating the latest brochure version and they should be available by the end of August!

* Gardasil
Two excellent articles were posted on our website in the spring by Judicial Watch and Peg Luksik, PhD Check them out at www.cogforlife.org/gardasil.htm

* FLICA legislation needs sponsors!
Children of God for Life is appealing to all concerned parents and physicians: Ask your Congressmen and Senators to sponsor the Fair Labeling and Informed Consent Act. This legislation requires full disclosure whenever aborted fetal cell lines are used in medical products through both clear package labeling and the Vaccine Information Statements provided prior to vaccination under federal law. This important legislation provides the incentive for the pharmaceutical industry to produce ethical versions for all vaccines and will discourage future immoral research. Please ask your Federal Representatives to contact us directly at 877-488-LIFE or email: cogforlife@aol.com

Talking points: We believe ALL consumers have the right to know and select ethical alternatives – but with the advent of new vaccines – both tainted and ethically produced - for polio, influenza, Avian flu and West Nile virus how are medical professionals and consumers supposed to know which ones to select? If the FDA can require fat and carbohydrate content on cookies, shouldn’t we know when the DNA of an aborted child is part of the vaccine ingredients? For full information go to www.cogforlife.org/flica.htm

Thank you for your ongoing support, donations and prayers! The Campaign for Ethical Vaccines now exceeds 600,000 signatures! But we need to add another zero to that figure before the industry will stand up and take notice, so please spread the news of our work to friends, families and pro-life groups.

And please keep the Bowen family - and all others who have been denied the right to religious exemptions by their fellow brothers and sisters in Christ - in your prayers. None are so blind as those who refuse to see.

God bless you always,
Debi Vinnedge
