Mark Anderson family fund-raiser
Mark Anderson, owner of Anderson Plant Farms in the town of Martell, died at 11:45 a.m., Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, 12 days after he suffered a severe head injury in a fall at the family's home.
This spring the Andersons, who have 10 children, celebrated 25 years in the nursery business. A few years ago they added retail sales, making Anderson Plant Farms a popular stop for local gardeners.
Since the accident, family members made the decision not to try and operate the business next year because Mark Anderson was the main operator of the family-run greenhouse operation.
A fund-raiser golf outing will be hosted by Mike and Kristi O'Malley this Sunday, Oct. 14, at Kilkarney Hills Golf Club.
Tee-off begins at noon with a cart included. Dinner is also included in the $100 cost.
Tickets for those wishing to attend the dinner only is $20.
A live auction begins at 7 p.m. featuring a 2005 Honda 650 4-wheeler, Knight muzzleloader gun, 32" flat screen TV, POA pony, framed Brett Favre print, a quarter of Angus beef (including processing), stained glass art, cherry hope chest, a case of "Around the World" wine, electric smoker, scrapbook tote and supplies, garden fountains, and many other items.
